Stand/TGIF

Happy Friday Everyone,

Another week down. Ash Wednesday has come and gone. When you think about what was sacrificed so that 'we' as a people could exist. That's the forum, I want to speak on today. What are you willing to give up? say for forty days. A good or bad habit, can be put into place, in as little as 21 days. To sacrifice, means to do without, are you willing to do that for a greater good. It's easy to stay in your 'comfort zone' and not be present with things that can be corrected.

Just like the New York post allowed the 'chimpanzee' cartoon to run, or the 'No Easter Egg Hunt This Year ' email. What was the sacrifice? We've come too far as a people, and a country to not take accountability. Simple apologies, will just not do, for poor behavior. We should not reward bad taste, and poor judgement. You can apply that your daily life, and outlook.

We've all done things that we're not proud of, ownership speaks volumes about your character. Think what GOD gave up for us. To sacrifice something for growth, will give birth to humility. To realize this fete wont be easy, it's much tougher than it seems. What are you, willing to give up?

I know that I can be prejudiced, impatient and deeply opinionated with my strong convictions. Am I proud of that? No, but I can own my issues. As a people, we can seek wisdom and understanding. All are works in progress.

Again, for the next 40 days, what are you willing to sacrifice, for growth?

President Obama first speech to Congress scores..

President Barack Obama gave his first speech to Congress on Tuesday night.
And, luckily for everyone, it was televised for our viewing pleasure.

His speech aired during primetime, taking over the 9 p.m. time slot. It drew in a 24.5 metered-market household ratings across the four major broadcast networks airing it.
And of all the stations, NBC actually drew in the strongest numbers with a 7.8 rating for the time slot.

Guess it doesnt hurt being easy on the eyes, the ladies love him, men want to be more like him and kids everywhere, are 'now' believing that they can grow up, to be the President of the United States.

Love Came In/TGIF

It's Friday....

So lets keep it moving everyone. Time and time again, I keep telling myself, Ill get to it tomorrow. Some of us dont get tomorrow. I went for my yearly physical, I saw my age on paper, in black and white. Damn I nearly had a out of body experience, like why did my doctor, give me someone elses paperwork. It was quite funny and eerie. In my head I'm 'still' 18 damnit, now it makes more sense, how R. Kelly got caught up. LOL Not saying that I agree, but it sheds some light.

What are you doing with your life? Are you learning the right lessons? Do you have any addictions? Are you addressing them? The play it forward method seems passe'. It should never get old, when you do for others. To give and expect nothing in return, is more GOD like. Deep down inside, do we really 'ever' give without expecting something in return.

Watching a autobiography, it's easy to see where a person life went wrong or off course, because it's television/film. Real life does not play out so easily. Bad habits can last a lifetime. We all look for love, and sometimes we find it, other times not so much.

Do we love at the same level? Relationships are ebb and flow. Much application is needed, and often time not rewarded. I find that your gut can save you from a lifetime of misery, yet most of us never go with our gut. The heart wants what it wants. Do you really ever stop loving someone? If you truly loved. All in all, with no regrets, we shape our tapestry. The hurdles, the battles and the triumphs, are all worth it.

Do you still dream?

Again I ask you, what are you doing with your life?

Women Hold Up The Sky!!

I wanted to address a topic that I love 'women'. The world could not function without them. If we're lucky, we have great relationships with our mothers. Some are not so lucky. I think of my mother ALL the time. Some of her teachings I hear LOUD AND CLEAR, now that she's no longer here in the physical.

I recently spoke at a Women's Cancer Society convention. For the few of you who aren't aware. My mother lost her battle to cancer some years ago. Upon hearing my mother's diagnosis, I tried to become superman. Naturally, I wanted to create a miracle. In the darkness, much light can be found if you really pay attention. Doctors never want to be proven wrong, so they tend to be very vague with information.

HMO's aren't what they should be. My mother had her yearly physical, and was given a clean bill of health in May. That December she was in stage 4 of Ovarian Cancer, which is the worst stage. If you ever find yourself in this situation, I emplore you to take notes during your doctors visits, have a tape recorder handy if possible. Also a great support team helps too.
There's a test called a CA125. It's a blood test that can detect Ovarian Cancer, which your normal yearly physicals can't. Its generally not covered by your insurance. It costs $250.00 but it's worth EVERY penny. With knowledge things can be prevented, and with proper information, it enables you to combat your battle. Please pass this information along.

Today lets give a hug to at least one female that you encounter, and pass the information and love on.

Happy Valentines Day/TGIF

Happy Friday everyone,

As the weeks continue to pass by. I'm always conscious of time and what It really means. I think that I could learn to be 'more' patient, as I don't really have a high tolerance. Energy is given freely and time is a allowance. Some people tend to take other's time for granted. Those type of people can be viewed as drainers. They can also be viewed as inconsiderate.

Often times I find myself rushing to the next thing, never knowing if I've fully addressed the matter at hand. Where am I rushing to? I use my impatience as my arsenal, when I need to pull it out, its there. Do I give out what I'm expecting to receive? Do the rules 'not' apply to me? The expectation of others, should be judged in self. The bar you set, are you meeting it?

This week the biggest thing in the news was the Chris Brown/Rhianna fiasco. Why would that news be 'more' important than President Obama's nation address? Goes back to priorieties in the media, and what 'they' deem important.

We've got to step up. Mental,Physical and Verbal abuse matters need to be addressed too, in a different forum, as no person or persons should feel that 'previledge' gives you 'ownership' or the right to disrespect, belittle or physically abuse another. Again, it goes back, what are we teaching 'our' children. Seek help from the temple most high.

Lastly this is a weekend for love and lovers, Happy Valentines Day!!

Enjoy!

The Return of Whitney Elizabeth Houston

Last night February 7th at the Beverly Hills Hilton, marked the return of Legendardy Superstar Whitney Houston. Performing to a packed audience of industry peers, who gave her a standing ovation. Houston seem to be in 'very' good spirits and showed to have made it through the storm.

Her brief, but energectic performance was just what the doctor ordered. Many naysayers were left with that jaws on the floor. Houston's performance was in part a tribute to Clive Davis who was being honored. She thanked him for all his years of support, and lovingly and affectionately calling him her Entertainment father.

Clive spoke briefly on her accolades and let the room know that the market place would have new Whitney Houston product, by summer.

America loves a great comeback, and this one is going to be MONSTEROUS!!

Remember the war/TGIF

Happy Friday to you. I want to thank you for the feedback that I've received. It's interesting to hear your take on my thoughts and opinions. It's been very cathartic for me. More and more I realize that my mom continues to channel through me. Sometimes the experiences can be humbling and sometimes just downright embarrassing. I know that the momentum has picked up in me and what I must do for the betterment of myself and those around me.

I looked at the Inauguration and the concerts that lead up to it. The moment was such a auspicious occasion, I came away wondering what the hell was Usher thinking to perform for the future President wearing sunglasses, then I looked at Shakira, fully clothed this time, but still inappropriate and why did Beyonce' feel that it was a concert for her fans, as she walked out blowing kisses:( Then I had to remind myself about the 'war' and those who have come before us, and ones who will come after us. Collectively this moment was bigger than just one individual. It's easy for me to sit and have judgement, failing to realize that perhaps nerves played a part or that they really didn't see the harm in their actions. Maybe they weren't taught the appropriate behavior. So it's important to support the 'Jack and Jill' organizations or a good finishing school on etiquette. Again we can learn something for everyone, it's time more so now than ever to step up and come correct.
How can we impact the future generations with words and wisdom. It never hurts to say you don't know or understand. Let's continue to achieve growth, and it starts at home. Set the example for other's to follow.

Happy Friday and may GOD bless us all.

P.S.S. Please continue to support 'THE GAME' Friday nights on the CW network.
